SS 2
The Pete Cornish
SS-2 satisfies a tremendous void in the Musicians palette of tone colors.
Totally different from any overdrive/distortion effect that has ever been
previously available; it is amazingly responsive to changes in both Guitar
volume and picking articulation. It has the best "bottom end retention"
ever heard in an effect, whilst the mid-range is sweet and very transparent.
The SS-2 retains all the tonal nuances of your guitar and is subtle and
yet capable of amazing power and sustain. Using the SS-2 with a clean amp
it is possible to progress from subtle overdriven amp sounds, through rhythmic
crunch, up to a blues' lead. The tonal characteristics and dynamics of the
guitar are maintained even when using this pedal at its maximum gain. The
input to this unique device is our universally acclaimed High Impedance,
Unity Gain, Class A, Buffer Preamp with it's superior RFI rejecting capability
(to eliminate Radio Station interference) and Low Impedance Audio output,
allowing the use of extended cable runs from the SS-2 in bypass mode. The
fixed High Impedance load presented to the Guitar allows the pickups to
operate at their optimum, even when several effects units are connected
after the SS-2. The Unity Gain Buffer also prevents "Ghost Distortion" being
audible in Bypass Mode. This effect unit gets the most benefit from being
fed into a clean, full frequency response amplifier and I recommend that
when you receive your pedal you connect it up without anything else in line,
just Guitar/Pedal/Amp, and discover the way the controls interact, both
with themselves and the guitar/amp controls. Then adding the rest of your
effects, you may find that you need to make slight adjustments to these
as they are now being fed with a constant signal when the SS-2 is in Bypass
Mode. FEATURES: High Impedance RFI rejecting input and bypass buffer. Each
unit is hand built, wired and tested by Pete and Lynda Cornish. Housed in
a Rugged Die-cast box with 'Chicken-Head' pointer knobs. Heavy Duty all-metal
footswitch with Hi-Brite, low power consumption LED. Easy battery replacement
via the 'drawer'. The battery is switched on when you insert the "IN/PWR"
jack and to ensure long battery life unplug this lead when the unit is not
in use. If the unit is not to be used for a long length of time we recommend
that you remove the battery. Preferred battery type is Alkaline. The power
consumption is very low: only 4mA in bypass mode and 5mA when the activated
thus ensuring extended battery life. Also fitted is an input for a DC adaptor:
the size of the coax connector is 5.5/2.1mm and the centre pin is negative
(-VE). The voltage rating of the adaptor should be noise free, fully stabilized
at 9.6V and capable of supplying 20mA. We recommend the use of the BOSS
PSA series adaptors (PSA-100/110/220 or 240 depending on your local AC supply
voltage) as meeting the above criteria and cannot accept any liability for
damage caused to this unit by the use of any other type of AC/DC adaptor.
P 2
The P-2's full, bright
sound cuts through the mix effortlessly. This pedal was the recipient of
the Editor's Pick Award from Guitar Player Magazine and received the following
review: "The Pete Cornish P-2 delivers extremely fat, smooth, and harmonically
rich distortion tones, ranging from a relatively mellow crunch to searing
high-gain sustain. The pedal is also extraordinarily responsive to playing
dynamics, cleans up nicely with even slight guitar volume adjustments, and
it provides nearly uncanny single-note definition within chords. Finally,
it can crank out insane amounts of gain. Astonishing! Extremely fat tone,
quiet, great dynamics, infinite sustain, exceptional chord definition".

NB 2
Originally designed
as an integral part of each Pete Cornish Custom Pedalboard and Rack System,
Pete's NB-2 allows a boost in volume, without any tonal alteration, to lift
a player's solo above the background sound level. The footswitch on this
unit is not a bypass switch; when the indicator light is OFF the NB-2 acts
as a unity gain buffer amplifier with high signal level capability and can
drive long cables without tone or signal loss. When the indicator light
is ON your pre-selected amount of boost (up to +27dB) will be available
at the output of the unit. There is no tonal change or phase shift to the
boosted signal. When used as the final effect, just before the amp input,
the NB-2 will give an instant increase in signal level, including the outputs
of any preceding effects. Used with a clean amp the NB-2 provides a pure
volume increase and when used with an overdriven amp the extra signal will
take your amp to a new level of excitement. An alternate use is to connect
your instrument to the NB-2 input: it will then enable 1) the NB-2 to provide
line driving and load isolation from the effects chain and 2) enable an
instantly switchable increase of instrument signal level which may be useful
for enhancing tone or overdrive into following effects. FEATURES: Dual purpose:
Line Driver and Linear Boost in one convenient package. Each unit is hand
built, wired and tested by Pete and Lynda Cornish. Housed in a Rugged Die-cast
box with a 'Chicken-Head' pointer knob. Heavy Duty all-metal footswitch
with Hi-Bright LED. Easy battery replacement via a removable 'drawer'. The
battery is switched on when you insert the "INPUT / PWR ON" jack and to
ensure long battery life unplug this lead when the unit is not in use. If
the unit is not to be used for a long length of time we recommend that you
remove the battery. Preferred battery type is MN1604. Also fitted is an
input for a DC adaptor: the size of the connector is M2.1 and the tip is
negative (-VE). The voltage rating of the adaptor should be fully stabilized
at 9.6V and capable of supplying 20mA. We recommend the use of the BOSS
